2013 MINI Cooper TOTALED :(
HAHA!
My wife: "I thought your ankle was hurt?"
Me: "It is. I figure a leisurely 8-12 mile run will work it out."
Interesting you've worked on both plaintiff and defense sides of injury cases, Dave. And I bet you're are a bit of a character because just about every defense counsel I've worked with on my claims has quite an entertaining and interesting person... I think it must come with the territory.
I bet if we ever met over a couple of beers, we could exchange some great stories about claims we've handled.

I can't even pick up my 10 pound dog haha!

I only did a 3 year stint in the Army but your welcome lol. My boyfriend also retired from the Air Force, he did 21 years as a fire fighter. He doesn't think I should get another MINI, I think I need to fire him. LOL. He just doesn't get it.

Air Force guys are usually smarter than that.

Geez.... didn't stay to help you through your physical and emotional pain ? Odd.
Hope you didn't have too much time invested in that relationship. That would really suck.
Solves the problem about the disagreement over a new MINI though.

When our truck was totaled, our insurance gave us comps for buying the same exact truck, in our area. Real comps that we could literally go and buy off the lot. They paid for the truck's upgrades, the unused portion of the registration, tax, etc. we were startled by how much we received, considering the age and mileage. Give them a chance to make you an offer in writing, then see if that amount will buy you similar to what you had.

Dont know if anyone has mentioned this, but be sure and call your dealership and see if you can get a prorated refund for the unused extended maintenance warranty. (At least here in Georgia) With that low of mileage, you should get almost all of the cost back on it.
Glad to hear you are ok!

I have quite a bit of experience dealing with accidents involving personal injury. Please, do NOT go straight to the chiropractor or PT. Make sure you go and see orthopedic surgeon first. Typically, chiropractor's holistic approach doesn't factor in invisible on an x-ray connective tissue damage you may be experiencing.
I've experienced that personally after a 60MPH rear end accident. I finished a 3 month treatment at the chiro only to find myself in tremendous amounts of pain continuously. When consulting ortho M.D., we've found out that I've had a herniated disc, spondylosis, and bulging discs all results of the accident. In the long run, insurance didn't want to pay out what I believe should be a fair compensation for my injuries due to the gap in the treatment.
Learn on other people's mistakes willing to share them. If something still hurts post treatment, don't give up; go to another doctor for second option, PT, or chiropractor until it's all gone. Remember, the moment you settle is the moment you're **** out of luck should any discomfort return.

I've already spoken about my distaste for Chiro treatment but I think you sell a lot of Physical Therapists short. A good PT eval is very similar to an Orthopedic evaluation, including radiological exams to determine if there are any issues other than the typical soft tissue injuries.
I won't say an Ortho visit is a bad idea. Just saying that going straight to a physical therapist, in most cases, is not only okay but just as effective as going to an Ortho then to PT.
And I can't speak to your specific case without having copies of your medical bills and reports at my disposal. But I'm betting your gap in treatment was more than a few weeks.
Lastly, any good claim adjuster, and I bet yours did, fully explains the full and final release before you voluntarily signed it.
