AVOID BC RACING At All Costs

Hey guys, thought I should fill you in on what happened to me.

First of all, do not do business with BC Racing. I had their coilover fail on me after 3 weeks of having them on the 2010 MINI Cooper S, or probably about 1000 miles. I was mid-turn when the piston rod snapped in half, leaving the coilover completely unattached from the rest of the suspension, which meant my wheel was basically floating and could have very easily resulted in a wreck if I had been going harder through the turn or at the track. They are refusing to give me a refund for this coilover. I will tell everyone I know to avoid this company and to look elsewhere. I recommend you do that same. I hope this posts helped someone make a decision about their coilover purchase, and to avoid this garbage brand.

I had Vmaxx coilovers (notoriously the cheapest coilover you can buy) on my car for over a year and 12,000 miles. I did not have one problem with them that resulted in my life being at risk like I did with these "nicer" coilovers. After this experience I would never purchase anything with the name "BC Racing" on them ever again.

my hubby had bc co's on his car for a number of years with no issues, and they went through plenty of track days with no problems at all and performed well (drag and autox events). i also know plenty of others with bc products and if there was an issue, they always helped. this sounds very fishy....as in the company believes you are at fault for the failure in some way and thus refusing to replace the product.

what was the reason they gave you for not replacing the co?

I had actually purchased them new from Enjuku Racing, who had given me a full refund when they told me incorrect information about the coilover before I purchased them. In order for them to give me a full refund after the coilover snapped, they needed to be inspected by BC Racing. The reason why BC Racing did not give me the full refund was because there was "damage to the shock body and damage to the rear lower mount" which got damaged when the coilover broke off. When I got these, I installed them just like I had 5 previous sets of coilovers which haven't given me or the people I've installed for a single problem

I know this bolt shearing off is a common issue on MINI Coopers with BC Coilovers. I have heard of this happening multiple times.

Just found out another person had this exact thing happen to their BC's. This is the 4th person I have heard this happening to that was running BC Racing coilovers.
