Considering buy MINI JCW GP

Hi all.
I currently have Subaru BRZ , I'm considering trade in JCW GP.

If somebody has some exprience just let me know.

while I traveling, I had chance to drive MINI Cooper hatchback. it was

better than I expect (handling, ride quality) I only have BRZ about 11month

do you guys thinks is it worth to switch??

also I heard there's no any discount on MINI is it correct?

I have never driven a GP so i cant speak much but in my opionion if your going to go mini i would just go with the JCW. from what i have read on the GP it is more of a track car then a daily driver. i have a 07 MCS and i love it. best car i have ever owned.

Depends on what you want from a car.
My 2006 GP1 with camber plates and rear sway bar, so comparable to 2013 GP is faster than a stock BRZ on an Auto-X track. However, the GPs ride a little rough. I would not trade my 7 year old GP for a BRZ. So trading a BRZ for a GP makes sense to me. I will be interested in selling my GP and getting a BRZ STI if even made.

Do it, I did and it is great. Much higher quality interior over the BRZ too.

For the cost a well equipped JCW will not be much cheaper then the GP. Go for the GP

from what i have read on the reviews though the road noise inside of GP is horrible, plus you lose the back seat and back speakers. it seems to me like a JCW would be a much better daily driver then a GP.

Depends on what you want in a daily driver. I had an 2003 MCS as a daily driver and now have a 2006 GP as a daily driver (82,000 miles) and the GP is a great daily driver in my opinion but I drive cars hard. I did but FatMat insulation in the rear for the MTTS 2010 trip to Denver (for my wife not me).

If you can find one to purchase, do it. You will not be sorry. I traded in a 2012 MCS with a sport package and my 2013 GP blows it away---it is not subtle. The car takes everything to a much higher level. It's like an "M" series Mini. I can say that because I owned an M3. I could not be happier with this car.

Brz RWD
GP FWD

If you want a sports car stick with the Brz. If you need a daily driver and want more practicality but still have it be fun then get the GP.

BRZ is about as fun to drive as a Honda Accord. You'll have 20x more fun in a GP2. BRZ is real sporty looking but that's just about it. In terms of exterior styling, the BRZ is way ahead but in driving feel, the GP2 is better. When I test drove the BRZ I didn't test what it could do in terms of handling but it would be interesting to see which one would do better on the track.

I think the fact that you are looking at getting something else 11 months later says it all.

GET THE MINI!!!

Have you driven a Brz/F86? I think not.

Yes I have. The clutch felt mashy and the drivers position didn't feel right at any setting. The car looks cool, I just wouldnt buy one. I would rather buy the WRX or STI. The car handles better and there is more power. When Toyota/Subaru decides to turbo the BRZ, then we're talking. The torque was nonexistent and the power was decent. I still think that the WRX is a better competition v. a GP. IMO

The cars you speak of are heavy bloated pigs. The Brz is light weight by todays standards and is a sublime drive where the rear end is easily kicked out and controlled. The car rev's high and puts a smile on your face. What is not to like about that?

Conversely the Mini sits higher has understeer like a sled and although is a fun ride, it would not be my choice (and has never been my choice) to hit deals gap or the southern indiana roads.

If you think a turbo is all the Brz needs think again. In F86 trim the suspension is better and that makes a world of difference. A good set of summer tires and you are good to go. Only then does application of FI make sense.

If you took this to a BRZ/FRS forum the majority of posts will lean towards BRZ/FRS and it'll be vice versa over here.

Personally, I would keep the BRZ.
