Preparing for roadtrip from Chicago to LA

I am preparing for one-way roadtrip(2000 mi) from Chicago to LA. I guess it will take three days and stop at Denver and Las Vegas.

My mini is Clubman 2010 and it has ~49000 miles on it.
Last oil change was at 45000 miles and tires are 6 months old.
I will carry extra coolant, engine oil, and tire repair toolkit.

What needs to be checked before leaving Chicago?

If it were me, I'd check the tread depth of the tires, carry a qt of oil, and call it a day.

That and have a AAA card, (or other roadside assistance card)

I'd add washer fluid.
Cell phone charger.

And a cooler of ice cold drinks, snacks, and a camera.

Check fluid levels (coolant, oil, brake) and manually check tire pressure even though you have TPMS. Have a nice trip!

+1. Definitely check tire pressures after inspecting tread depth and getting a good visual that you have no screws/nails in any tire.

Thank you all. I will check fluid levels and tire pressure/tread depth. I hope my mini survives this long trip....

Have faith in your MINI Its not extremely high mileage or age so it should survive just fine
