Remove E-Brake & Shift Boots?

I want to do some custom color stiching on the leather e-brake and shift boots. How so I remove these? I have an automatic transmission if that helps at all. Thanks!

I found a bit of info from Redline Goods that might help. They make custom shift and e-brake boots for our MINIs. I have a 2006 stick shift and installed both boots a couple of months ago.

The instructions might be slightly different for an auto, and might vary depending on the year of your car. You might check here for some ideas on how to get started.

Redline also might have instructions for automatics, but offhand I'm not sure. HTH some.

The leathers I purchased came with installation directions. There are clips that hold them down. http://www.redlinegoods.com/MINI07install.php will walk you through it with pictures!

I don't know about twintert, but for me removing the e-brake mounting frame was harder than the shifter. It definitely took some work.

I had a different experience. the hardest part for me was getting the leathers to fit evenly over the plastic frames that they attach to.
