Nevermind the F56...

What are your predictions for the 2014 R5x models, unfounded or otherwise?

I wouldn't be surprised to see an end to the MINI Yours dashes. The Polar Beige one has already disappeared from the configurator. Can the Satellite Gray one be far behind? I would guess that the JCW black dash stays, though.

The theory I've seen is that the R56 isn't going to go to 2014 production, just carry on with 2013 until the F56 comes along.

But as you noticed some things are disappearing. I'm not sure it they're just being pruned because they've run out, or just aren't popular enough to bother with. Slightly annoying was the fluid silver surfaces. We went for pepper white instead.

Sorry if I was unclear: I'm asking about the other models: R55, R57, R58, R59. And, I guess, the 60 and 61 too.

I hadn't even noticed the fluid silver thing! Polar Beige leather has gone away too.

I predict that it will probably be a better car.

R50 owners will really hate it, and think the world is ending.

R56 owners will hate it bit less.

Chicks will dig it.

My impression was the other R5x models are continuing into 2014 unchanged. I don't think the R6x cars are up for a refresh until 2015-16 when they start to share a common platform with the new X1. I expect the convertible will be the first variant to be migrated to the new platform after the hardtop. The clubman will probably follow. It will be interesting to see how long they hold out on the coupe and roadster or if they just drop them after the R5x production runs off. I don't know what their sales figures look like vs the rest of the lineup.

There are always small changes, year to year. Like the Roadster adding a semi-auto top as standard, or the flip-flop that Bluetooth and Sirius did.
