Not exactly what you're asking, my mobile setup is more of a minimalist setup.

I have a low profile cigarette lighter adapter with two USB receptacles which output at the max input voltage for most cell phones with two 90 degree USB adapters I found on eBay which goes to two long USB cables which output to microusb, which I route each beside a seat, then under the emergency brake handle.

This makes it where my girlfriend and I can comfortably surf, power-up, and the center console tray is still completely accessible. Disadvantages are slight tackiness and difficult to use during driving.

I too have the proclip. I originally got it for my Garmin, but hacked an old windshield cell phone mount to work with it.

I have one of these babies and it works perfect. I gave away 4 as gifts and every one loved 'em.

I have a cig lighter USB adapter and just place my iPhone 4S in the passenger side cup holder. I'm not all that fancy.

With the telescopic steering wheel I've found my iPhone fits perfectly flat between the wheel and the tac. Hook up charger and aux adapter and motor. Cords not in the way and driven over 10,000 miles this way.

I have the Proclip and I drilled the clip to mount a cheap Bracketron universal mount I got from Amazon a while back. Works great. No drilling of the car, just double sided sticky pads, and it's really solid.

Craven Speed. Yes it isn't cheap but it is so flexible in what it holds as well as mounting and future expanding for more gauges and stuff. Santa brought me one and I had it in in less than 10 minutes.

You may have already made up your mind, but this is what I've been using for a while and love it. Really easy to access with hand on shifter, not in the way of shifts to Reverse, inexpensive, fits both my old Droid and new iPhone with and without cases (adjustable clips), and discrete.

Yes +1 to the last post; I have that too, w/ iphone-case-stuck-to-a-clip ghetto thing so have it hold my iphone w/out disgustingly fat wings on the side.

Now, that's what I do because I don't want a mount/thing stuck to the window (leaving marks) and I don't want a fat thing I can't hide away completely when not in use (which is rare, really).

I'm looking at that mountek thing, finally someone did why I always thought about, using the CD! (the other spot someone has got to figure out how to use, is the triangle between vent & large speedo.
