Mini Emblem
It is easy to remove using dental floss in a sawing motion. But... first stick down some painter's tape parallel on either side away from where your stripes will go and mark the badge's position with a straight edge so you can put it back down where it belongs. You will need double sided tape to stick it back down.
The link below has some pictures of laying down boot stripes but it also shows what I mean by using tape to mark badge location.

On my '11 R56S, the front emblem has three little aligning bumps. The bonnet has 3 holes in it and the badge has 3 bumps on the back to make it so you pretty much can't mess it up.
So use some fishing line, dental floss, any soft and flexible string-type item with high tensile strength. Saw it back and forth under the emblem. They are all just held on with double sided tape.
Clean the tape off the car and the emblem and re-apply some before re-installing.
The rear emblems are just stuck on. The MINI badge on the rear might have some alignment holes but I'm not sure.
My rear MINI badge was removed and re-applied with a really thin and narrow 3M double-sided tape. It was something like THIS.

Both front and rear have the alignment hole(I drive a 2007 r56 so it might be different tho)
I used hair dryer to heat the badge and soften the tape first and use fish line to saw it and remove it.
