DDMWorks R56 Street Intake

I have a 2011 MCS, and I am considering the purchase of a DDMWorks R56 Street Intake. The hood scoop on the 2011 has some of the holes opened up, and I have a little concern with what effect water may have if driving in a heavy rain, and having an intake that is open on top. Should I be concerned, or am I worried over nothing?
