The Joy of Vandalism

This morning I was treated to a broken taillight ...what a joy... does anyone have instructions for removing the existing assembly? Also is it possible to just replace the cover (red translucent) or is it only sold as the full assembly? Any help appreciated. Thanks!

You'll get better info if you post the year of your car.

On the first gen, anyway, you can get in behind the tail light through the panels on either side of the boot. There's a nut on a long bolt, you remove it and then push the light assembly outward. You have to buy the whole unit.

Sorry about that! Wasn't thinking - 11' Countryman.
