Comfort access: How does the MINI ID the driver?

I have looked for some technical explanation of this but did not find anything. My theory based on what I've seen is that the driver ID is obtained only when you use a key in the ignition. If Driver A does that, and then Driver B uses keyless access, the preferences are stuck on Driver A. Does this sound right?

No, at least not as far as I know, both of my Key Fobs are set up exactly the same. Each Key Fob is programmed to the individual Driver's specifications regardless of whether or not they have been inserted into the Docking Station, the car reads which ever Key Fob is in the closest proximity to the car, typically if you are entering the car and you have your Key Fob in a pocket, hand, etc., then the car should be reading that fob. Hope that helps.
