Plastidiped Mini?

Hi, has anyone plastidiped there whole mini like they do on dipyourcar.com. It seams like a cheaper option than warping. ALso, any advice on color combos for a R53 MCS.

Thanks

I'd say it's a terrible idea. It looks decent when first done but I'd imagine it will look pretty bad a few months down the road. I know when I dip'd my old wheels black, they held onto so much brake dust that they had a permanent red hue.

It's probably cheaper, my wrap was about $2k, but you will absolutely get what you pay for.

If you're hell bent on dip'ing your car then go with a dark color, I know the lighter colors will stain and be pretty much impossible to clean.

Thanks for that, How long have you had your wrap on the car. Is it durable?

I got mine done around August. Since it's white, it stains very easily. Any bird poop, tree sap, etc will stain permanently if left on for more than a few hours. My roof is matte black and it seems super durable tho.

The wrap is supposed to last for 4-5 years. I take extra special care of it tho and either park it in a garage or put a cover that blocks 98% UV light if sitting outside for any amount of time longer than 1/2hr. My white vinyl is an entirely different texture than plastidip tho. My vinyl is incredibly smooth, like rolls royce paint smooth. The plastidip is rubbery and porous which encourages dirt and grime to stick.

White is definitely not a finish I'd suggest for anyone who isn't totally **** about cleaning their car.

If you do get a wrap find a company who specializes in exotics and has done a bunch. If they can handle a $250k Lambo, they can probably handle your $30k MINI. The same can't be said for a company that specializes in wrapping Ford Transits for HVAC companies or city buses.

Also, white is my color so find your own

Yes, the PO of my R53 plastidipped the entire car. It looked horrible and took a long time to remove. At least it got me a good price....
