You guys missed out on a hellava run out to Palomar Mt. yesterday! (SCMM)
You should all join us sometime!
Chopped off about half the cars up front...

Porthos,
Are you at the Hospital, with Med Bn or assigned to a unit? Just curious, as I worked with 1st and 2nd Med Bn in the past (rifle/pistol requalification for the Corpsman and Officers).

Porthos,
We started up around 9:30, ended up in Julian (down from Palomar to Lake Henshaw, out to Anza and back up to Julian) around 1:30. The group then took over half the barn at Wynola's Pizza for lunch. BTW, might check "1904 photography", they were one of the groups on the side of the road taking pictures. Who knows, maybe they caught a pick of you as well(?).
Bluebrat,
A gray Countryman?
You guys should check out SCMM some time. Most of the events are over for the year (except our monthly breakfast), but it seems to be a fairly active club. Lots of nice folks.

Fellow san diegans!!!!
Just got my car back from San Diego Mini in Kearny Mesa. My buddy, Aaron Green (Service Advisor) who works there 'hooked up' the JCW Aero Kit, painted and Installed! Looks freakin AWESOME!!! If you are looking to get an JCW Aero Kit, call Aaron at San Diego Mini and say "Eric sent me to you..." and he will 'hook you up" too

Bluebrat,
I was going to laugh if you had the grey one, as it's owner is up the street from me. I think I have seen you around RB a few times. I know there are something like four Mini's just on my street alone (Alborada Dr., just off Aguamiel down toward the dog park/sports field), but I've never seen them at any club events or runs...
I'll keep an eye out for you (if you see a BRG Coupe waving, that'd be me!).

We had a terrific time running up Palomar Mountain! We went from mountain, to desert, to mountain, in beautiful synchronicity. Twelve MINIs participated, a nice sized group. I believe it was a total of 120 miles, including some of the best Twisties in the County. Here we are taking a rest break at the restaurant overlooking Lake Henshaw:

Then, in November, we run to Laughlin for the weekend. In January, the club celebrates their 10th year by going to Santa Anita Racetrack and having a catered, private party up in the Grandstand boxes, overlooking the gorgeous race track and betting on horses while eating fabulous food and raffling off BIG prizes... last year I think we had THREE of the MINI folding bicycles... they are expensive, and we gave out THREE! Over a hundred MINIs and Minis attend that! SCMM is a very active club, with something to do every weekend if you are willing to drive up to OC or LA!

navybsn, et al San Diegans,
To join SCMM just go here: http://www.scmm.org/
The membership dues is a onetime/lifetime deal and inexpensive. Once a member, you'll have access to the SCMM forums (used mostly for event coordination and announcements).
Everyone is welcomed to join.
Also, for San Diego folks, the SCMM monthly breakfast is the first Saturday of the month, at the Corner Bakery in Mission Valley. Lots of nice folks, good food and some interesting discussions about Mini stuff and the community. Plus it doesn't hurt to have a dozen or so Minis parked in a row outside the restaurant...

Okay, who in San Diego is driving the Pepperwhite/Black roofed Coupe?
It's the first (other) Coupe I have seen (physically) on the roads in San Diego (besides the one I drive). It was in the RB area (West Bernardo Dr) of San Diego. Anyone want to fess up?
