Copycat!
Instead of getting stripes or something that is easily copy-able just get a really expensive set of wheels. Something like OZ, Work, BBS, or a top end wheel. Than everyone will know that it is your car.
How about this - encourage the other owner to join NAM so they can see all the mods THEY can do - a much cheaper option for you!
Inexpensive mods you could do: plastidip (wheels, mirror caps, chrome bits), grill badges, stubby antenna, decals, or red pinstripe tape along your stripes.
I understand how being copied to a T is frustrating, but you definitely have the right car to make all yours.
Mods or no, be sure to post pictures of you motoring up there in the Dolomites. It sounds amazing.

Frankly, I wouldn't be so bothered. If you like it as it is, enjoy it. If you really want it to be different, do things like getting different wheels, blacking out some trim elements, etc., etc.
And maybe you should be flattered rather than upset.

minineen,
First off, I have to tell you that yours is one beautiful car !! I saw in your post that you are considering white walls. I look at your car and I can see that very clearly and I like your idea. I would probably be thinking the same thing and the retro feel would be pretty awesome on that classy car.

I certainly understand everyone's sentiments.
The rub is... she pretty much got what she wanted in the original build. It is a small market out here and every car sold is a custom build straight from the factory (except for a couple program BMW's). A similar build on the Italian market would be €35K ($44K) before taxes... so the chance of seeing one off base in this area is nill. There may eventually be three or four roadsters on base and one will be a carbon copy based on photos taken in front of where she works...
Sort of flies in the face of the "millions of combinations" motto on the Mini site.
It isn't just about being unique, though that is part of it. It's about having your idea flat out ripped off. Call it childish or whatever. It is just a car, but if you're the creative type, it bugs.
And I'm seriously thinking whitewalls... we'll photoshop some on an see how it looks.

My brother had a similar situation w/his Saleen Mustang. Special ordered, trim, wheels etc... clown at his work went out and ordered exactly same car from same dealer using my bros inventory/build sheet. My bro was livid.
His wife solved the problem by having a 1"x3" chrome plaque made & installed in sight on center console, stating "Custom Built for (my bro) & production date.
Besides, Minineen yours was first. Theirs is second, second = 1 first loser hahaha... and there's will always be second.

White walls have been done, and unless executed perfectly, in a rat rod-esque fashion, it fails!
Eaxmple 1: Pretty well done execution.

Example 2: Poor execution.

I can respect wanting to have a retro flair, but the lines of the car don't really lend themselves to it. Also, Minis never were offered with white walls, that I'm aware of.
This is a much more retro EDM styled wheel that will increase the performance of your car, and will definitely not be copied by that unoriginal toolbag who has invaded your life!

A possibility might be an oak dash? The oak option was not offered for the 2013s. However, it might still be possible to order a replacement part. It won't change the exterior situation, but will provide a "retro" feel change to the interior.
BTW, love your roadster too.

Like you I'm trying to keep it original but yet retro, just started adding some interior pieces from redline goods one of the pieces I had done was headrest covers with the MINI logo embroidered on. IMO they made a huge but sutle impact on presentation.
I can't stop anyone from doing what they want. Good opportunity to keep making my Ninjin even more fabulous.
Not sure why you feel the need to snark - I'm asking for ways to mod my vehicle, not change anyone else's car. That would be how I choose to deal with it.
Those silver OEM wheels should be the first to go. Wheels are the most visible difference maker from the crowd, and a white MINI especially needs a nice (black) wheel. Just my 2 cents.
