Maybe it's just me but I get a kick out of the fact that the go to size comparison for the new Mars Rover is the Mini Cooper.

The Mini Cooper-sized spacecraft traveled 8½ months to reach Mars. In a sort of celestial acrobatics, Curiosity will twist, turn and perform other maneuvers throughout the seven-minute thrill ride to the surface.

Others have remarked about having a lot of miles on their MINI's. This Mini Cooper-sized craft has got them all beat! 34,600,000 miles at its closest.
