As I mentioned, the first sign I've seen of this was in a car nearly 10 years old . . . and then only on a plastic part. There are not MANY painted plastic parts on a GEN2 MINI and they are not all the same plastic compound - which DOES matter - - -

SO, how long to you plan to keep the car - REALLY????? Are you going to be happy driving a 15 year old car in 2027? If so ..... why'd you buy a new one? You could have saved a bunch of money buying a 2002, only 10 years old, today. If the red looks good now you'll probably get another 10 years . . .

Hi, Capt_bj. Not sure if your question is to me or to the person you quoted. If it was to me (the person who started the thread), I didn't want a used one, especially since I do plan to keep this car for a very long time (I haven't been without a car payment in nearly 15 years and I'd like some time without a car payment once the CM is paid off), also I wouldn't have been able to find one exactly the way I want it, and an old Mini wouldn't have suited my current circumstances. I just sold my R56 last week because I need a bigger Mini to cart my baby around.

It used to be an option in the build on Miniusa.com to get the invisishield (or whatever it was called), but now it's not there...I totally would have opted for it.
