Would you buy this 05 MINI Cooper S??

Hi all, I'm looking to buy an R53 MCS very soon.
I found this 2005 MINI Cooper S on the local kijiji website

http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ395727792

It has been in an accident and since repaired. The hood, one headlight and bumper were replaced and I was told there was no frame damage or engine damage.

I also asked if this car still has a clean title and he said it does not. It has been branded 'rebuilt'. This is the main thing that is holding me back.

The KM are fairly low and it is very well optioned. With a full toggle switch panel, bi-xenons and the electronic hvac panel. And the price is very low due to the rebuilt title.

So.. Would you consider buying this MINI?

I'm downgrading from my 330ci and plan on keeping my MINI for at least 4 years while I go to school.

After doing some reading briefly I am probably going to shy away from this. Insurance companies are less likely to insure a rebuilt title car and to even get a rebuilt title it would have had to have some pretty significant damage. My BMW had been in an accident when almost new and the cost of repair was 11k. My BMW has a clean title. So it makes me think this mini must have been pretty banged up. Probably beyond what I've been told.

Smart move. I was about to type a response telling you to shy away from that MINI when you made your second post.

Rebuilt title means significant damages. MINIs don't have frames but I'm sure there was some unibody work done on it.

There's plenty of MINIs out there, I'd keep looking.

Run, don't walk away from this one. There are lots of older inexpensive Mini's out there. Buy the lowest miles, manual transmission, non-S you can find and you should make it through school pretty much trouble free.

This is the other one I was looking at before I saw that rebuilt one and started wondering.

This one seems pretty legit, I'll be checking it out later this week.

@Hochspannung

You might want to look at my 2007 Mini Cooper S that I'm selling in Rochester NY. I'm asking for $13,400 OBO and it's soooo much better than these cars you are looking at. Loaded, first owner, garaged and all.

Check out the details at http://sites.google.com/site/2007cooperforsale/
