Replacing a cooling fan

I have a 2006 mini Cooper base that needs it's cooling fan replaced.I take it ,the bumper and bumper skin have to be removed. In what order do I begin? Does anyone have any insight

I got into the cooling fan and it's not plugged in!!! No wonder it doesn't work!! Anyone got any idea where I should look for where it is supposed to be plugged in to?
