Difference in Clubman S brakes?

I was given a '12 Clubman S as a loan car while my '09 Clubman was in the shop because the dash kept giving faulty readings. My Clubman easily covers the front wheels in brake dust in less than a week to the point that it's visible 30' away in broad daylight. I HATE that. After five days with the '12 Clubman S, the front wheels had NO brake dust accumulation. I even ran my finger over it and there was almost none on my skin. If I had done it with my Clubman, my finger would be totally black. Did they change the brake pads? If yes, will the dealer use those if I tell them to replace the front pads? Anyone with a '12 base Clubman who can tell me if there is still a ton of brake dust buildup on the front wheels?

So, on my 09 Clubman, when I replace the brakes, will I get these "new" improved pad that produce less dust? Or are they only for 2012 models and if I go OEM, I'll get the same items I currently have on my car?

I hope you guys are right and they have changed the compound. We'll see. I took mine in for a timing chain related issue and they went ahead and replaced my front pads while they had it in the shop.

My 2009 Clubman S gets dirty front paws in about a day after cleaning it, once it's out of warranty (5k miles and/or 7 months now) I'll be changing them too. I bought Akebono ceramics for the wife's Audi and it's done wonders for her dirty front wheels, plus they feel pretty good too.....I may go that route.
