So what will this repair cost?
I am taking my car in for service the ABS & Low Tire light is on. The tires have the proper inflation. The car runs fine and brakes feel as though there is nothing wrong. Any Idea what I am in for?
Well the good news is that the TPS monitor on your car uses the ABS sensors, so it will probably just wind up being a single ABS hall effect sensor to solve both lights. I'm surprised you aren't also getting a DSC or ASC light. If your car has ASC and not DSC, this might narrow it down to a rear sensor. Tough part is that the right and left are different part numbers (I think). I'm not sure how to test this other than trial and error. Some shops might do the same, so you may get stuck paying for two sensors. Maybe four, if they just want to rule everything out (or are lazy, or want to pad the bill).
The job is a pretty easy one, so I can't see more than an hours labor, even if they replace multiple sensors. If I were you, I'd check and make sure the connections are good, before bringing it in, but they are known to fail. BTW, it's DIYable, so if you are changing your own oil, you can handle it!
