Visibility Issues?

Does anyone else seem to have a problem being seen in a Mini? I recently moved from a Jeep Cherokee to an MCS and I've definitely noticed an increase in cars trying to merge into my lane while I'm occupying it. It's happened to me three times just on the trip home today! Does this happen often to anyone else or do the drivers in my area just suck?

Do you keep your headlights ON at all times?

Happens to me all the time. I thought a bright red car would be visible but apparently not. The other drivers must not be able to see our little cars with their heads so far up their a$$es . I just drive with my lights on all the time now and have invested in a louder horn.

The daytime lights are always on, but I don't think that would make much of a difference while driving a black Mini in the middle of a sunny afternoon.

I have noticed it, and I'm trying to discount the "please don't hit my new car" factor when folks pull out in front of me, or merge without seeing me seemingly more often than before.

I'm a motorcycle rider also, so I'm used to being somewhat "invisible" and drive accordingly.

Still.

I thought the roof checkers and hood stripes would be unusual enough to stand out from the normal blur of traffic for these types. Apparently not.

This happened to me as well. I-68 east bound driver passed me on left and just as we were side by side, pulled back into my lane. My lights were on, perfect road conditions, and a bright blue MINI. I was too busy braking and moving onto the berm to use my horn right away, but I gave it a good work-out right after. Only have 600 miles in my MINI, and hope this is not a "trend"!

I see some of that. Mostly I see SUV's (Especially the Caddy ones) or PU Trucks just push into my lane because they are bigger. Even blowing the horn doesn't work.

They did it with my Accent too.

So now I just hold my ground and stay even with the front of them. If they hit me its their dime. Usually that works and they just flip me off.
