Name This part

I found this laying under my Mini after working on it changing control arm bushings. Anybody got a clue what it is. I have looked everywhere and can't find where it goes.Name This part-2012-01-22-16.21.13.jpg

It's a cap that slides into the end of your crush tubes. I think it keeps water and mud out of them.

Not the crush tubes. The ends of the subframe where the bumper mount brackets slide on, between number 4 and 5 here.

Since the bumper mount brackets slide over them, they probably don't serve any purpose for keeping water out. Maybe they are a manufacturing aid, helping the robots (or the afternoon shift English workers, if you know what I mean) slide mount brackets on target easier. That would explain why they're not in the actual parts list. I'd leave it out until next time you drop your subframe.

Thank you for the help. It was bothering me that I left out something important. Especial since I am having issues now. I can't put the car in gear without horrible grinding noise. Seems one on my cv axles moved while working on the car and maybe isn't seated right . Don't know at a loss right now..
