How does the maintenance plan work?
Hi everyone,
I took my mini in for its first oil change (5,000 miles) and tire rotation yesterday. While I was at the dealership, I was asking how the maintenance plan worked. I was wondering if I needed to come in and have it checked for problems every now and then, or what.
I was told that I just wait until my Mini tells me something is wrong or is due to be changed. However, when I bought my mini, the salesman had mentioned something about bringing it in once a year for an annual checkup. So, which is it?
Thanks in advance for your always helpful information.

Taking it in annually makes sense as it needs to be serviced at least annually so the dealers service department will look your car over (actually they do a rather detailed inspection and give you a written report) when they perform this service activity!
Once a year if you don't go to many miles.
I'm lucky because my dealer sends me a reminder on E-Mail & snail mail when my yearly service is due. I don't travel many miles so the yearly is OK for me.
They do check everything and replace what needs to be replaced. They change the oil & filter. They did change my brake fluid on one service. I'm very pleased with my dealer and the service.
If you drive a lot of miles your computer will tell you when service is due, Just keep a check on the date of your last service and if a year is up call the dealer to get it serviced.
