Going Psycho

So I'm in the official countdown of 12 days left with me (hopefull) getting my Mini on Dec 17th. I'm experiencing extreme Mini envy where ever I go, staring blankly into the cabins of Mini's I don't even know longing to sit in the seats and zoom off to destinations unknown. My husband thinks I've gone mad and my children are starting to walk much faster than I in the stores to give strangers the impression I'm not with them. The usual requests of purses, perfume and give certificates to the local spa have been replaced by Mini grill magnets, fancy lug nut caps and a clear bra. What's happening to me? I hope I take delivery on time, otherwise there may be one more resident in the Colorado nut house than is officially necessary

Actually, I didn't get to do much driving this weekend at all! Had family in for our big Christmas party, and had to get the house and food ready for that. I named him Pip (well, actually a friend named him Pip when I first ordered him). Took him back this morning for his stripes with about 80 miles on the odometer, most of which was just from the dealership to the house. Did get to make a few runs to the grocery store while getting ready for the party! Looking forward to next weekend...will definitely put a few 100 miles on him then!

Good name, Pip. I like it. I'm trying to think of one for mine, orange with black, I like Fiona quite a bit but I'm wondering if that's too flowery of a name for a spicey little car such as the mini.

How about something like Masala, or Chutney? Those are words associated with spice, at least for me!

Ignore me. I remembered the wrong name.

You did tell your husband that the clear bra was for the car right? I can imagine an excited Mr Hampsonna rushing to Victoria's Secret for a rather awkward purchase attempt. :D

I understand what you're putting your family through. I decided 1-1/2 years ago that my next car would be a MINI, then I drove my family crazy waiting for my lease to end so I could get one. I picked up JR on November 19th. The wait was torturous, but sooooooo worth it! I've never owned a car that's so much fun to drive.

My family deserves something really special this Christmas for putting up with me in school (graduate school) working full time and moaning about the Mini coming in. My husband and I have four daughters so I'll have to think of something really good for them.

How about a MINI Coupe, so that everyone has a seat?

I am feeling the pain of waiting for the lease to end as well. But, in 6 months, I am taking the X5 to carmax. My X5 is being serviced today and they brought a MINI Clubman S in white silver for the loaner!!! I love it...talk about a tease........

Hampsonna, I hope your car arrives in time for Santa!

You know, that's not a bad idea, but three of the four girls drive and have their own cars. My little one, who's 12, kinda likes the idea of just her and mommy tooling around in the Mini plus she thinks on some level when she drives she'll get Fiona...ha ha...we'll see. We did the mini van for many years and while it served its purpose, I'm ready to move on to something a little sportier.

You're still way closer to getting yours than I am! Mine isn't even on the boat yet. I'm getting nervous that it won't get here in time for me to use my Motor-tober discount!

What's a motor-tober discount? Are there discount deals from Mini for December? I was told I could still take advantage of those if my car was delivered in December.

Motor-tober was an event held at Mini dealerships in October. If you made an appointment, and went on a test drive, then they gave you $750 voucher off MSRP toward a 2012 Mini (either one on the lot, or ordered if you took delivery by Jan 2, 2012.)
