Replacement 2" Black MINI Hood badge R56
Replacement 2" Black MINI Hood badge R56
Hi-
I am sorry not to have posted for a while. I am living happily ever after in my R56 basic MINI Coupe (2007), still logging 42-43 miles per gallon.
However, my black MINI badge (you have the same one, front hood, in between the two wings, and rear) popped off and when I asked about a replacement, I was told I need to buy the entire (aluminum?) wing piece ornament, like $48 or so. Surely, this plastic little black badge in the center can be obtained on its own? (I would think it should cost like $.25 or maybe 30 cents, but I know better!). Does anybody know where?
Since I have to replace it anyway, are there alternatives (Union Jack, etc.)? Just the 2" button badge, not the entire ornament.
Many thanks to all.
I have driven since 1970 (hey...I started young!) and the MINI remains the most "fun" vehicle I have ever owned.

Mini of South Atlanta has them for $27.35.

You have to heat them up abit to release the adhesive backing on the old emblem. Try some some gauge fishing line and slid it under the wing and work it back of forth to loosen the emblem. There are also 2 little platic pins that go into the metal, pull straight out to remove. Can be a bear but not bad.
