I used to like the snow...

Until we (in Pennsylvania) got hit with that lovely Nor'easter on Saturday. Was relaxing at home in the dead quiet (lost power for a couple hours- not a big deal), when I heard a loud crash. I ran outside to find this...

Yes, that is the Dutchess (1 month old) under there

Fortunately, these things appear to be tough little buggers, and she escaped with only a few small dents on the bonnet and one noticeable dent on the roof- getting her fixed next week.

Glad to see you were not clearing snow off the car at the time.

Haha, @walk, so am I! Actually, I think the snow that was on there already helped save her from having more damage.

I am an even bigger fan of how tough these little cars are after my husband, while driving on Monday in another area that got hit pretty hard in the snow, had a run-in with a deer on an icy road, did a 720, and ended up sliding sideways in a field. No worries- he completely missed the deer. Not a scratch on his MINI.

Ya when was the last time Jacksonville, Florida was hit by one. Been awhile. I have lived here for 16 years(minus the military sending me to NC, Hawaii, and the Middle East) and I have seen 6 maybe 8 storms. You see snow every year. I will take my chances.

This storm was like nothing I have ever seen. I have so many broken trees around its amazing. I tries to remove a 50 foot limb that is hanging but still connected with the Mini, but the rope broke. It would have been a cool feat. My brother-in-law says it looks like dinosaurs just pushed their way through everything. Its crazy here in NJ

At least we know when they are coming and get get ready a week or two ahead of time. Lived here almost 26 years (I'm 25) and have been through storms and nothing to write home about damage or loss wise. It it was so horrible are you Yankees (mainly Mich. and Ohio) wouldn't be vacationing or retiring here.

PS, right now it is 71 out, high of 83 with 8-10mph breeze. No chance of rain; in the words of McDonald's, "I'm lovin' it".

I read the thread title and cringed a bit inside as I opened it. Glad to see that the damage was minimal!

Ouch! Glad to see its just minimal.

I dont want to thread-jack, but I really hope to have my own mini before snow this year. Driving in the snow is one of my favorite things to do. I love being alone in what always looks like a post-apocalyptic wasteland, i love how easy it is to slide the car, and i love how awesome everything looks for that first 1-2 days with a foot of snow on it.

Driving in the snow rules. Just got Blizzaks on the justaCooper. Can't wait for snow.

I would never live in Florida. Being a long flight away from any decent skiing would suck.

That sucks! I JUST got power back a few hours ago from that storm. I live in MA. We didn't have electric for 7 days, down to the exact hour. Luckily, my cars made it through the storm with no damage.

Glad the damage was light - that's why both my cars are parked in the garage.

Snow sucks, but 19" a year isn't so bad. Rochester, NY has a reasonably good average of 92" a year for our area (Syracuse is 115+).
