So I figured I'd resurrect this old thread rather than starting a new one, but I have a question about the JCW Aero Kit that I don't think was ever really answered.

Specifically...is there any actual difference between the Aero Kit that is included in the $2000 JCW Package and the one you get in the stand alone JCW Aero Kit that is available as a $2182 option?

I know the configurer on MiniUSA is pretty buggy (like how you can include the optional Aero Kit on a car that already has the JCW Package added or even on a Factory JCW??? ), but there don't appear to be any visual differences between the two kits other than the grille trim changing from chrome to black when you select the optional stand alone kit (although I really hope that is the case with the JCW Package as well because I much prefer the black trim).

I realize that there is a lot less cost involved in putting the kit on at the factory as opposed to having to paint it and install it at the VDC or dealer, but it still seems pretty crazy that just the Aero Kit costs more (plus installation?) than everything you get with the JCW Package.

Anyhow, if anyone can shed some light on this I'd appreciate it so I know what to expect when my baby arrives.

sorry to hijack and resurrect this thread, i have a question about the JCW tune kit on the automatic. do you lose the paddle shifters due to a new steering wheel being put in or software locks it out? if its due to a different steering wheel, i wonder if you can just keep non JCW and save a few $ and keep shifters..

i'm waiting for my cooper s custom to come in and have been eyeing my future upgrades.. aero kit is after the tunekit, i want to keep my cooper s coupe very sleeper like and non jcw badged if possible. can't wait till she comes!!!
