Better car mats

After using the rubber Mini OEM mats for a while, I wanted a change. I didnt like the Mini carpet mats. They seemed too thin. I got some berber mats from LLoyds. Fit perfectly, and even have fasteners that replace the velcro that comes standard on the drivers side of the mini. Very heavy, and thick and they dont slide around.

Thanks for the tip - they look great. Do you have a link where you bought those?

I bought mine at AutoAnything.com. Lloyds has a list of dealers on their website and they all charge the same. AutoAnything has free shipping and they came in just a few days.

I have to say that the stock black mats in mine are very attractive - when clean! (they have a reflective piping that really pops)

Otherwise they show every speck of dirt.

I had the same ones, cosmos I believe. Didn't like how the passenger side slid around pretty easy, and didn't personally like how thin they were. So that's when I cose to get Lloyd mats, which I absolutely love. You can customize with different piping and such, but I chose to go with plain black.

These are really thin, but have a sturdy rubber backing and large velcro tabs that prevent it from slipping - so alls good for now.

I will be buying rubber mats however for winter soon.

Thanks for the info. I have coco mats in my '11 and had them in my '06. I absolutely love them, but my husband prefers a carpet set so I'll check into the Lloyd's for him.

the Posh Pile ones I got are a lot thicker and plusher than OE. I love the non-skid real rubber backing. They are wearing like iron. Just ordered some for the wife's Lexus!

I've replaced the mats in a lot of my cars. Im not crazy about black mats...they show every piece of lint, dust, etc. When my Clubbie gets here, I'd like to get some Lloyds TruBerbers or Ultimats in something very close to the polar beige of my colorline. Terrible idea? Anyone done anything similar? (Or, to the poster above, do the berber mats hide dirt better than plush ones? I like the texture on those, would be ok with black if they hide well.)

SCmountaineer, I just ordered cocomats black with blue dots to match my interior accents (due to arrive this week). Was considering either those or Lloyds and ended up liking the cocomat color choice a little more. Hopefully they'll hide the dirt but still give a nice little pop to the floor. I've always gotten rubber mats before but dang they show every speck of dust, dirt, dog hair, pine needles...

I totally forgot about cocomats...I'll check those out. Would be cool to have black and polar beige-ish flecks. I tried the rubber mats before too, and they just always looked bad. The ivory mats that I had in my old Accord were oddly enough the easiest to keep looking good.

Better R56 Car Mats

Those Posh Pile mats are treated with a protectant so they are amazingly easy to clean. They even have a video on You Tube (shot in England or at least with an English guy) of them being power washed in a boat yard. The ones I have in all my cars are plush, easy to clean, yet indestructible! Did I mention they cost a boat load less than Lloyds?

Here's a photo of the Posh Pile mats. They are less than $70 on eBay.

Molly's OEM Floor Mats are in a plastic bag up in the Attic. I ordered WeatherTech Floor Liners and had them here before she even came home!! Living in the PNW with unpredictable weather all year long, but especially Winter Weather we wanted something durable and easy to clean (Simple Green).

The berber mats hide dirt VERY well. I know that the Lloyds mats are a little pricy but they dress up the interior a lot and are way easier to keep looking good than a solid color. When winter hits here and we get some really wet weather, I will probably put the rubber mats back in, but the car looks so much better with the berber!
