Based on my experience with leased vehicles and lease companies, I'd save the rack for your new MINI. The lease company will charge you back for anything they can, and typically at the highest possible cost to you. Most lease contracts prohibit the addition of any after the sale add-ons, and some state that anything added to the car after the original purchase must stay on the vehicle when it's turned in.
