went to my local mini dealer and they had one on display. WOW. That thing is awesome looking in person. I didnt care for the back in pictures but in real life I would say the back is the nicest part. It was a red S (non jcw) with silver stripes, with the silver roof and red stripes. I think this car is gonna sell like crazy once its out.

Where are you? I didn't think any were going to show up in dealerships until at least September.

I live in Los Angeles, so I'm hoping we get it first. Odds are he probably lives in Canada. They're a great test market for North America. The Smart car was there for about three years before they ever decided to bring it down here. The same goes for the hybrid Escalade and others. If my dealership doesn't have it, it's definitely not in the west coast yet.

I'm in north jersey. The dealer I go to is the largest mini dealer in the tri state area and if i'm not mistaken the entire east coast. So I guess that why we got a Coupe.

pics (also iphone 4 pics)

Pics DO NOT do it justice at all.

Actually, the dealer I live near, Passport MINI of Alexandria, VA, claims to be the "top MINI dealership in the country" and have the "largest Mini service and parts department on the East Coast" as per their website http://www.miniofalexandria.com/AboutUs

Looks quite smart on the red. It badly needs the black-out headlamps and different wheels IMO.

I got the same answer when I asked today at the MINI event in Toronto. I would expect them mid 2012 at the latest if they are starting to build them now or soon.

That sounds about right. It's too bad, I'd really like to test drive one sooner than that! The more I see it, the more I like it.

Funny, that's what my local mini dealer claims too...

I would LOVE to see one of these things in Laser Blue with a Black roof.... I would just about DIE to have one...but that wouldn't help because then I couldn't enjoy it. Drat.

Great pics! The car looks much nicer in your shots than the previous photos I've seen of it. Really like the color contrasting stripes with the roof and the hood. Do agree though that it would look nicer with better wheels. I'll have a look in person when I pick my car up at Prestige in a couple of weeks.
