Why not MINI campers and travel trailers?

MINIs are rated in Europe to tow 1440 pounds...why are they so shy about that here, are we Americans less than capable when towing popups and teardrops?

I would definitely spend $$ on a MINI popup* similar to the Jeep popup sold at dealerships now:

C'mon MINI, trust us, we can tow as well as any European MINI driver.

*with heat and a/c please

There was a MINI airstream concept. http://www.worldcarfans.com/10904221...study-revealed

I know plenty of people tow without problems. Check out http://www.minifini.com/ http://www.minidomore.com/ http://www.minitears.com/

Thanks amberback - I realize many tow ultralight trailers without issue, however I'd like MINI (or someone) to consider making a MINI popup like JEEP did...while I love the look of teardrops I'd like to stand up inside and want more amenities than the SylvanSport GO for extended trips. I also love the storage room on top of the JEEP popup.

Wouldn't a popup that looks like a MINI be great? MINI seems reluctant to do anything with towing and MINI in the US, though, and I'm not sure why.

That is a great start for a Barbie popup! Buckaroo and TowMini need to get together.
