What MINI would your parents drive?
I've had cars that my mom always criticized for various reasons. I was surprised that she actually liked my Clubman when I told her that I had bought a MINI. She once remarked that if she had to own one, she would prefer a Chili Red Clubman. She currently drives a Cadillac STS.
That got me thinking, what kind of MINI (including color) would your parents drive if they could have one? Any models apply including the Countryman.

I'm in my early 50s, but...
I remember my mom actually really wanted an original British Mini when they were imported here. Problem was she couldn't drive stick for the life of her, so that time dad got her a...Dodge Dart with the slant 6...to replace the '62 Rambler lemon. Next it was a Toyota Tercel, Toyota's first laughable attempt at a FWD car. The Mini would be a classic, the Rambler a good laugh, the Dart and Tercel just forgettable junkers.
She's still around and driving a bit, and my (driving age) kids love the 6 speed S coupe. Thus generationally for my wife, or my mom today, I would have to say CM. Definitely automatic now. For the classic SUV type reasons "car" people adopt them--easier to get into, higher off the ground/view of the road, etc.

To find out what MINI my parents would drive, you would first need to ask their dogs, since they take those little rugrats everywhere. Im guessing a Countryman, in some obscure color that was on the lot at the time.

I was the first one in my household to break the family ford/chevy trend when I got my license at 17, my first car was a Honda. Then it was on to the MINI. When I was at the dealership, my Stepdad was with me, and he became very very impressed with MINI as a company, from their sturdiness in the build of their cars, to their dealership courtesies. He hasn't really driven one, except for moving mine around in the driveway, but even at that, he was still impressed and would joke that he wanted one. He currently drives a 2009 Ford F-150 Limited Edition and my Mom drives a 2010 Ford Escape Limited Edition. It'd been Fords or Chevy's with them since I can remember, even my grandparents! Gotta add some variety in life, so I'm glad to have my MINI in the driveway
It would be a RIOT to see my parents in a mini!! My mother drives a mercedes sedan and my father drives a BMW SUV -- I don't think that they have the personality for a MINI ... My mother was so skeptical when I brought my new baby home, she wouldn't even go for a ride in it :(
If I had to choose one for them, I guess it would be the new Countryman.

My dad has always been a Chevy guy. His work vehicle is a Chevy Express van or in my terms "The Church Van"
Then his weekend, nice weather vehicle is a 2010 Camaro SS so it makes up for his van!
But he does love my MINI, so if he were to buy one that it would probably be the MCS but without Connected. I'm into technology, him...not so much.

My Dad DROVE a 1961 Morris Mini Minor 1000... license plate YWN489....that's when I was growing up in Swansea, Wales...at the same time my brother drove a Mini Cooper CCY25B (1964) and then a Riley Elf LWN816F (1968) and then a Mini Cooper S TWN612H (1970)....and yes I still do remember the license plates of each of them (and every other car my Dad had from before I was born until I went off to college)......great cars and great memories...

Mom: considering she complains about dad's Lexus GS being "too small" I'm gonna go with none of them
Dad: I think if i got him to drive a JCW hardtop, then he'd love it, but getting him over how small it is (he's 6'4") would be that hard part, more cause he'd feel goofy unfolding himself out of the small car than a lack of comfort while inside it.
