New MINI :)

Hey all,

I haven't posted on here for quite some time...but that doesn't mean I haven't been daydreaming about MINIs during that whole time. I just purchased a used 2007 mcs today and I'm absolutely giddy about it....just thought I'd share.

You can see my old pw 2005 mc in the back feeling neglected...I'm sure I will find someone who will give it a good home.

Congrats, very nice!
So what mods are you planning thus far? I'm about to take deliver of an '11 and am very ADD about mods at the moment. Can't decide where to start....

Since money is a little more tight after that purchase, I'll probably keep it stock up until the summer. I have some black and chrome summer wheels for my 2005 but I would love to get my hands on some white 18' rims perhaps...but that's just aesthetics.

I will certainly do a CAI and perhaps a cat-back exhaust at some point.....but to be quite honest, I'm liking the quietness of the 2007 vs. my cat-back on my '05....maybe I'm just getting old (yea right! )

What do you have planned for yours thus far? And congrats on the 2011!!

I don't think you can do a CAI on a turbo, check me on that.
I'm thinking exhaust will be my first non-aesthetic mod, but I'm thinking I'll wait til after the dragon since I can hear every exhaust possibility in person and then decide from there.

I'm pretty sure you can get a CAI for a turbo (although I may be wrong). The difference between a supercharger and a turbo is how the boost is added and constantly running vs. engine speed. I looked it up and Alta sells a CAI for the r56.. although it does require opening up the front hood scoop to actually be functional. I do like that our intercoolers are now front mounted vs. on top of the engine.

I pick her up today I can hardly wait any longer!! What mods do you think I should tend to first??

OH! And I still have my old black 18' summer wheels with brand new tread on the tires...do you think that will go with my new color scheme? I suppose I could always try it.....

Just picked up some Motegi SP10 rims for the new car I'll post some pictures here when they come in and I get a chance to mount them up.

Ok, went back through the post where I got the no cai for a turbo info. Seems the poster meant to put no pulley and has since gone back and updated saying they put the wrong word. Good to hear since I just ordered a DoS CAI for Mozart .

I'm going to drive for a while before I think about any more mods. I'm totally new to my Maxx and to MINI in general, so I think I'll just have fun for now. But Maxx is pretty loaded, it will take me a while to learn what he can do!
