I think the smaller part of the concept is better but the over all design is horrible. Too cutesy.....

I can handle cutesy (in the way of personality and charm) more then I can what I would call "fussiness." Too much in-your-face design can be distracting for the driver, I think, although ya can't blame them for going all out on a concept car.

Toyota's iQ is still shorter and with a similar seating arrangement. I think they may have been a bit more innovative under the bonnet.

Honestly, I think that someone should bring back the original Mini in its basic shape, only applying updates where the need to be for legal reasons. Of course, the mechanicals should be modern, as well. As much as I love old cars, I dont like fixing old cars all the time.

I like it. Finally a proper MINI.
One thing I would add is smaller gas/turbo engine as I'm not a big fan of Diesel.

I don't like it one bit. Mini's are awesome, but they get that girlie stereotype. This car does not help at all. All the light on it are ridiculous. the roof is terrible. Its smaller, that's cool, but they better still be able to fit a decent size turbo motor under there. . I bet with all that extra stuff on it it still wights way more than it should.

I think everything about it except the back is awesome. Its not necessarily the tail lights that I dont like, but the lack of detail in the back. It just looks fat and round in the back, and the single middle exhaust tip doesnt help either.

But just how small is this? Is it smaller than the R53?

I wouldn't worry about the details. Concept cars always have some far-out details to make them stand out from the norm. The tail lights, doors and hatch are unlikely to see production.

The good news here is that they're testing the water on an actual mini sized MINI. Hopefully a cleaned up version will see production and we'll get a JCW version for some big fun in a small package.

The iQ is ugly and looks like a box on wheels, a least this still looks like a cool car and a mini at that.

This will be ace if it is made especially as it will appease a lot of classic fans.

Further watering down of the brand. MINI is destroying its own niche. I'm not even a fan of the Clubman, let alone this monstrosity.

I agree, the iQ wins no contests in the looks department (although that might be a matter of personal taste), but in the technical innovation department it is pretty well done....at least Aston Martin seems to think so. Actually, the Cygnet is mighty fine looking, imo.

It just appears that MINI put more effort into fancy design on this one and less into any real innovation, although the 3-cyl power plant seems a winner. The bonnet even appears to be the same length as R56.
