Switching used for driving lights?
Regarding the factory installed driving lights: Do they have their own switch for turning on/off or do they use the main headlight switch? If they do use the same switch, do they go off when the headlights are turned on bright?
Thanks...
Thanks...
They have their own switch, which is run through the headlights to ensure they aren't on with the high beams. But you do have to independently turn on/off the lights.
The way the factory driving light switch works is that you press the button to "arm" the driving lights. You can tell they're armed because a green light will illuminate on the switch.
From that point on (until you turn the car off or press the button again), whenever you turn on your high beams, the driving lights will come on with them. When you turn the high beams off, the driving lights will turn off as well.
Looking at your post and Jeremy's, there appears to be a little confusion. The proper wiring for the driving lights ensures that they are only on with the high beams, not the low beams. If they're wired correctly, they should turn OFF when you switch to low beams.
