What the heck is this dot by my gas gauge??

Here we are, a decade after this thread was started and it has helped me understand that little fuel dot on my 2011 Countryman. This is definitely one of the best Mini forums available. Glad to be a member.

If the dot turns green you have finally opened up the extra gas tank.
