Synthetic Oil Stabilizer

Has anyone ever heard of or used this LUCAS SYNTHETIC OIL STABILIZER??? I was thinking about getting some to add during my next oil change. If anyone knows, how much should I add during the oil change?

I wouldn't put anything into good synthetic oil. I always wonder if people with sludge and clogged ports don't add things to the oil.

Just use recommended oil, no sense in adding anything to oil that is supposed to be good for 25k miles. *Just don't wait that long for a change.

(maybe I would put it in a 100K, 40 year old big block, but not a new engine)

I've been using Amsoil 0W-30 Signature for about 30,000 miles now, changed every 7,000 miles. Although I miss the delicious smell of petroleum based oil, the fully synthetic Amsoil Signature blend seemed to free up some power in the engine. It comes out at 7,000 looking dark but not pitch black. I have had oil analysis done and it seems like there is more life left in the oil, perhaps to 8 or 9, but stretch the interval and risk the engine when changing is so cheap? (relative to a toasted engine)

I've been running Amsoil 5W-30 for 4 or 5 years now and change it every 7,000 miles, too. I have been happy with its performance.

MINI's use oil.......... This snake oil claims to fix that........ Testimonials on their site claim it too....... I would say it would not take long in a MINI to verify or deny that claim.......

Key Benefits
    • Increase oil life at least 50%
    • Reduces oil consumption
    • Eliminates dry starts
    • Raises oil pressure
    • Increases power and MPG

Amsoil 5W-30 High Performance used here for a few years now and changed at MINI recommended intervals. Great stuff! There is no need to add anything to the oil so avoid that stuff above.

Amway oil is not on my radar - maybe if they would actually get the approvals. Mobil 1 rocks.

That Lucas product looks, sounds, and smells like snake oil. Good motor oil need nothing. Save your money and maybe your engine.

As for Amsoil, it is hands down the very, very best motor oil out there, regardless if it's approved by the car manufacturers. I've been using their products for years in one form or another. Top notch. (Just a weird marketing scheme, but more and more you can find them in the stores.)

Of course, Mobil 1 is one of the top synthetics as well. Just not quite as good as Amsoil. Another top oil is Redline.

I use 5/30 Amsoil in my 06 JCW.

They do have API certified oils but they are not willing to compromise with their HP level oils. I know folks that have been running Amsoil for years and never had a problem. I have noticed that when I was running Mobile1 I was burning a lot more oil. I no longer have that problem since I switched in either the Subaru or MINI so I'll stick with it.

I've been using Amsoil oil and other products for 30 years and they are definitely top-tier quality with no compromises. I use it in all of my vehicles and will be converting my new '11CS over on its first oil change. I have never had any issues with it and it has actually solved problems such as chattering rear diff clutches. The company also gives top notch customer service.

Only thing I can fault Amsoil on is that they don't make a gear lube for my transaxle that is compatible with the LSD. 'Have to go to Redline for that.

I bought a 2006 MCS Last March, and just now changed the Amsoil 0W-30 for the first time. It was still on the full mark - no discernible oil use after about 7,000 miles. I'm sure some oil use happened, just not very much. My son had his Mazda 626 at college for 18 months. Put 0W-30 Amsoil before leaving and changed when he came back after about 25K miles. Still on the full mark - no usage and none added. My experience is Amsoil 0W-30 is great oil. Of course you need good cars and keep them properly maintained.
