Well maybe not that extreme of a difference but you get the idea. Today I thought it'd be interesting to get a few shots of my H3 and MINI side-by-side after I finished cleaning the behemoth up of the grime that had collected on it from the drive from Indiana to SoCal last month when we moved.

The MINI is replacing the Hummer as my daily driver which was no problem in my previous job in Indiana that was very close to home. Now I'm driving 90 miles a day and need something that sips gas sparingly but is still entertaining transport. The H3 has been semi-retired to local-grocery-getter, home-improvement-center-hauler, 2-couple-hauling and vacation-trip duties. We love it and couldn't bring ourselves to part with it - plus, it's our only vehicle that can haul stuff. Oh, and, it's paid for.

Thanks - I take the Ortega Hwy. to work which is a 30 mile canyon run so the MCS is prefect for it!

Our new house is in Lake Elsinore, just North of Temecula. My new job is in Irvine.

Was a must-have for me when I was looking. There are so many MINIs available on the lots here in SoCal that I realized that, for once, I might not to order a car from the factory and still be able to get the configuration I was looking for. This one had everything I wanted.

Have fun with that commute. Nightmare from hell you are going to be on the roads for a couple of hours everyday.

I've been doing it for two months now and actually enjoy it since most of it is the Ortega (except with the rain washouts last week). Nowhere near as bad as the 150 mile commute I used to do from Miami to Ft. Lauderdale on the most boring road in America - the Florida Turnpike.

The only traffic I normally hit is the last few miles on I5 near work and that only lasts for about 10 minutes.

Neither of those cars was the issue when it came to steepness and clearance. The two Vettes just clear at the angle break where it gets flat. Both are lowered and have aftermarket headers/exhaust that hangs lower than the body.

The rocker panel is close, but the cats hang even lower and have about 1.5" clearance.
