Harman/Kardon MINI amp replacement
Harman/Kardon MINI amp replacement
The HK amp in my '03 MINI R50 (plenty of cool extras) has just broken and needs to be replaced. New one here in Oz is over two grand. Does anyone know if there are second-hand top quality ones I can get from a trustworthy dealer/seller in any part of the world? I'm in Melbourne, Australia. Thanks heaps guyz!
Honestly....
You can keep an eye out here on the Marketplace or troll ebay. It took me months of hunting before I just caved in and redid the whole audio system. It may be expensive but honestly it is SOOOOOOO worth it. I'm rocking some far better equipment and still maintained an OEM look. PM me. I can give you some advice!
I had the same experience as Justin but I went aftermarket all the way: New Alpine head, polk audio and kicker components all around with crossovers. For about $1000, I'm sounding better than I ever did and also louder than my stock H/K system. Replacing the amp, while nice to maintain a factory look all around, will eventually land you in the same spot as the H/K amp is inherantly flawed and will eventually fry.
