Justacooper?

True, a Cooper is also a tuned version of the MINI...it is a tuned MINI One. For me it is simply a matter of preference...some prefer the tuning of an MCS (they are lunatics ). Coopers offer a different, balanced way of accessing power. I always owned Coopers and walked right past the Ss.
ps....and don't even get me started on those JCW loonies

RllyDrvrIX, I'm sure you know 'justacooper' is the commonly used term used to describe the performance level of a MINI model. To educate those who don't know, MINI is a car company owned by BMW like Chevrolet is owned by GM(US Govt.). Just like Chevrolet, they have models with names but that's where MINI differs. MINI's models are their differing bodies like hardtop, convertible, Clubman, and Countryman. SS is a performance level for a Camaro just like Cooper is a performance level of a MINI model. In the UK and elsewhere, their performance levels are as follows: First, One, Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works. Not all MINIs are "MINI Coopers". So, "Cooper", even though the base marketed MINI performance level here in the US, it is 2 performance levels higher than MINIs marketed in other countries. So "justacooper" could mean MINI Cooper hardtop, MINI Cooper convertible, MINI Cooper Clubman, or MINI Cooper Countryman. Also, I have no idea what performance levels the twins will have here in the US when they are released.

I utterly have refused, do refuse, and will continue to refuse to call any Cooper "justa". It is, whether intended or not, demeaning...to the car and to the man. It is a random designation invented by a few that has no merit whatsoever, nevermind being wholly inaccurate. I reject it completely, as any proper Cooper-driving snob should do.

No disrespect is meant by that slang term. It's just as harmless as calling my bastard home brewed JCW craptastic...
I like justacooper's as much as justamcs's they are all justa hoot to drive.
Have a justa fun day yall...
Rally driver IX don't worry about it. It's all good.

Haha... the funny thing is I was planning on making a 'Justa' badge and sticking it in the rear above and left to the 'Cooper' badge so that the S Coopers will know they have been passed by a Justa . I pass so many of them being driven like Prius. On the other hand I guess they will be the ones laughing when they see the cops pull me over .

My first MINI was an '05 MC hardtop because I didn't want any of the future problems associated with forced induction(supercharger/turbo). I got my '08 MC Clubman for the same reason, just needed the extra room. I started changing my mind on forced induction from information on this and other forums plus, my poor MC Clubman was huffing and puffing trying to keep up with the MCS models while playing up in the mountains on MINI runs(MITM/MTTS). My MCs held their own in the twisties but the forced induction MCSs held the huge advantage at high altitude mountain driving. If I used my MINI only for regular Texas highway driving, I'd be fine with a MC but my playground being elsewhere, I prefer the MCS.
