Do Mini people still wave at each other??

hah, I like the formula. I believe you need to add a bit about age as well. Like for every 10 years above 30 or 40 -1 point. No offence to the older Mini drivers! it has just been my observation.
Actually waved at a 70 year old woman today, thought it would be nice even if it was probably a futile attempt. She just stared at me as i drove by...no wave.

In the world of cookie-cutter cars, it's great to drive an iconic vehicle. Yes, i wave to other MINI drivers. Sometimes I forget I'm driving my MINI and wave to motorcyclists (just as I forget and wave to MINIs when riding my motorcycle). I know it's geeky, but it's one of the few friendly gestures left on our highways.

I wave. I don't care if they don't see me. Some of the ones that do see me get very excited to have someone wave or flash their lights. We are on our 5th BMW, a 5 series, and BMW owners often wave or flash their lights. What ticks me off is when we are in the BMW and wave at a Mini and the driver just stares at me. Usually it is in Colorado where they must be too cool to wave.

The "wave" stories are about to get worse. We have a pick up truck as well. Once we get south of a certain hiway in this state, all trucks and pickups wave to each other, or point the index finger. Cowboys and farmers point at each other with the index finger. (not the middle finger) None of the trucks wave at the BMW. Lots of cowboy/farmers wave at the MCS. Wave to each other!

To wave or not to wave, that is the question.
We may have an advantage here. Kansas State University colors are purple and white. Same as our Mini. With K-State front lic plate. Lotsa rural enthusiasm for K-State in Kansas. 70 yo ladies walking their poodles wave at me as I drive thru small towns. People on the sidewalks in Manhattan KS point and wave at Terry as she drives the Mini thru town. Farmers in white Ford pickups give me the index finger lift off the steering wheel.

Some folks do indeed drive in a coma. My own Mother always has. Meeting her on the road, I used to have to drive into her lane and back over into mine before she would see me. Dad on the other hand, sees me from 5 miles away... As far as Countryman, the front end might be too different from a regular Mini to be recognised yet. Has anyone else noticed how much the R53 and R56 front ends look like an A.C. Ace or the 289 Cobra?

Yup, however I had to Google it. Hadn't heard of Van Zile Hall before. Terry and her entire family went there, but none graduated. Neither did our two sons who started college there. Had to come back home to Wichita and WSU and slow down and study.
Is Van Zile famous?
Is Van Zile famous?
Supposedly, all of the Van Ziles in the USA are either descendants of Pieter Egbert Stevense Van Seyl, born in New Amsterdam (later called "New York") in 1607, or immigrated from South Africa, where the name is supposedly fairly common. Doubtless, the dorm was named after some distant relative of mine....
Maybe when I finally drive Nudnik back east for MINIs on the Dragon, I'll swing through Manhattan on the way back and check the place out, get a pic for my Facebook gallery, etc....

ROFL!
Actually, 'Joe Bfstplk' is the name of a character from L'il Abner -- the guy with the thundercloud perpetually over his head who is billed as "the world's worst jinx".
Slowly but surely I'm working towards make the screenname a bit ironic humor....
