front tire slippage. tire sensor? DSC?

HELP!! recently ive been feeling like im loosing grip when driving around tighter more twisty roads. my tires really arent worn out bad at all. but the understeering seems to be getting worse. Also with all these wet slippery leaves a lot of the time when i take off from a light or stop sign my wheels will slip a little and a light will come on under the spedo. im not sure what symbol it is but i know everytime the front tires slip it comes on.

i remember when i learned to drive stick on it that first week i would spin a lot but that light never came on.

i drive with the DSC on meaning the light on the dash is out.

is there something wrong here?

OH 02 justacooper with sports package

somebody help

also sometimes my car smells like eggs like ill be driving and then it smells like sulfer or soemthing weird. is this odd?

The light under the spedo (yellow triangle) is DSC/DTC. So all that is doing is saying that it's trying to compensate for loss of traction. You are probably getting more slip now because of colder temps and having summer tires. Most of us do.

The smell of sulfer/eggs is when a car runs rich (too much fuel for air in the cylinders). This is quite normal if you are giving it the beans, as our engines do run rich at high rpms and stock setups.

You're fine.

oh man thanks so much! i was getting concered! very relieved now but my question is sitll, how coem that light wasnt coming up in the summer even tho i was slipping and why am i getting more understeer than usual.

could it be that my tires have less tread then before of maybe the cold roads with cold tires and leaves. that sounds most plausible

well the understeer will be cured a bit. throwing in a 19mm sway this weekend

The sway bar will help some, but it sounds like the wet roads and slippery leaves are the biggest problem, may need to slow down a little.
