Cruston, no lights and like I said... it did it when I was driving in the morning then didn't do it later in the day then did it again the third time it was driven. You're right, a dreaded trip to the dealer is in order before even scheduling to take her to orangecrush.

I know Crashton has WAY more experience with our beloved vehicles than I do but my highly developed spider sense is saying that the wonderful folks that worked on your car still haven't gotten it right! I just don't believe in coincidences given all of the troubles you've had with what should have been a fairly straight forward repair. BTW I being a dog person, I sure hope the hound is ok but I know you have no way of knowing.

Good Luck!

I completely agree and told them that they need to take the car to the dealership and have them determine what's wrong. If it is accident related, it's nothing to go back to the insurance company and have them pay for it.

If it's not, then it should be covered under warranty.

In either case, it needs to be fixed to not leave a sour taste in any car owner's mouth.

Having said that, once the car is mechanically driveable, I'll be more than happy to fix any "they're like that from the factory" issues.

Freakin' moron, I can't believe someone would even use that phrase.

We drove the MINI again today and had NO power issues, I was trying my best to make it do it. I hope it was just something resetting from stuff being disconnected?? I'd like to think that is possible!

Mark, I'll get you the photos you want. Thanks again!

I drove White Lightnin over 40 miles today in as many different situations as I could, cold start, warm start, hills, curves, traffic, 40 mph, 70 mph and no signs of the power loss I experienced the other day. So fingers crossed that whatever was happening has resolved itself.

Mark, orangecrush, I am sending you a link to see the photos, when she was new, after the accident and after the repairs. I'm definitely not a photographer so anything else you need just let me know.

Orangecrush,

I sent you more info and the PDF file, PM and email. I can't wait for us to get started on White Lightnin because I know you well get her all fixed up with no unsightly bandaids hanging off her bumper! You are a blessing!

Not sure if you received my PM but I got your estimate and pics.... tomorrow I will go over everything and we'll try to schedule it for this coming Monday.

It looks to me that the front end may be swayed over a bit thus causing the uneveness in the front bumper/hood spacing.

I just want to look at the estimate first so I have an idea of what damages were done to the frame/sheetmetal/radiator support, etc, etc...

I'll contact you tomorrow if I'm not slammed. The last 2-3 days I never even got a chance to eat lunch till 4 pm and at that point...well, there's no point. I'm leaving in an hour anyways....

Talk to you tomorrow.

Damm girl, what happened to letting me look at the estimate and pics first?

I guess I'll see you Monday. I'll send you my address.

Mark (OrangeCrush)

I want to commend you for your extraordinary MINI spirit. I was having a bit of a blah MINI week, and seeing one MINI owner helping out another brought me right back out of it.

Here's to WhiteLightnin getting fixed up soon, and back to her proper self.

Cheers!

Okay ya'll, you're embarassing me...lol.

Seriously, I'm not doing anything more than I think another fellow mini owner would do. I've been in this business a long time and not only do I not want to see someone taken advantage of, I don't want to see a fellow mini owner screwed over and not have their mini bring a smile back to their face when they leave the shop.

But Thanks anyways...

The quote above is such an understatement (just like his stated HP on his JCW ) We brought the MINI to him on Sunday evening and within 2 minutes he was pointing out things wrong that I had not even told him about... he's good.

He started working on it on Monday morning and was finished by closing time at his shop that evening. AMAZING! The other shop had it for 3 1/2 week and gave it back a mess, he had it for one day and gave it back perfect. He not only brought a smile to my face but brought tears to my eyes too!

If you live anywhere near where his shops are and need work done it would definitely be in your best interest to get it to him!

This must be a MINI thing because it sure doesn't happen often in our world that someone goes over and beyond what is good and right. Thank you Mark, for your hospitality and for bringing a smile to my face when I looked at my girl and she smiled back at me!

Forever Grateful,
Deborah

Now take it back to the Dealer and rub their nose in it ..... then rub their nose in it again! Show them what a bunch of incompetent A-holes they are and tell them that they should all work in a salvage yard.

What a GREAT ending to your nightmare. I am glad the MINI SPIRIT has returned.

Bob
