EZLift

Does anyone have, used or seen the EZ Car Lift ?

http://www.ezcarlift.com/

I have a limited width garage and this looks like it may be an option. I found this link on one of the BMW forums:

http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7aq8e/continued/id25.html

Now it looks like there is a GroupBuy going on:

http://www.gotogroupbuy.com/488/EZ-Carlift.aspx

Anyone interested?

That is a lot of money for a lift that uses no hydraulics. I just can't see where all the money is going. You can get a scissor lift for less that will lift higher. Check out this place.

EZLift

I've looked at the scissor lifts and th price is pretty good. However, the EZLift has an open middle so you can work under any part of the car. One of hte videos on the site shows a guy on a crawler moving everywhere under the car. Also it's more portable; you can just slide the lift under the car where ever the car is, and it breaks down real easy for storage. This is something you could actually take to the track if you wanted to. You wouldn/t even need AC power to raise and lower the lift. With the group buy, the price will be $1495, still a lot of money but it seems to be more flexible.

It's a shame the price is so high. If you had a large enough garage and a shop-grade concrete slab that's 6" or thicker, you could buy a hydraulic lift that bolts to the floor for about $2K.

What's the minimum height of the lift when you're sliding it under the car? Only spec I can find is "stowed height" at 4"...is that the measurement they're talking about?

One of my dreams is to have a hydraulic lift in my garage.

Man, how often do you lift your car? I have built two race Miatas from scratch on quality jack stands in my garage. 18" clear and I can change anything needed. Save the $ for mods IMO.

Well leaving a car on jack stands for a long term project is one thing but taking it up and down frequently is for me a pain. I really like lifting the entire car at once and not levering one side at a time. I can see added benefits to doing not just oil changes but waxing and detailing where the car is at belt height. I have been looking for a small garage size lift for a long time and the Ezcarlift really seems to fit the bill. I have limited headroom so a two post is out plus I need the ability to store it when not in use. This may not be for everyone but I have signed up as "interested" at the group buy site.
