Yes it is safe however you'll get more wheel spin with it off if you have a lead foot. I hit my DSC off button every time I start the MINI except in rain or snow.

Yes, it's safe to drive without the DSC fuse. Personally, I think it's LESS dangerous to have DSC off, especially in rain. The DSC is rediculously sensitive, and cutting the power when I'm trying to get out onto a busy road is a recipe for disaster. My DSC is permanently off via an Ian Cull Auto Up module, and will remain that way for as long as I own the car.

Its a circuit board that changes some of the settings on the car, as to what is on by default, and it makes it so a tap on the window toggles makes them go up.

It depends on what you want. I basically makes it where you have more control over the car then the car itself. It all comes down to how much risk are you willing to accept?

For me the traction control is always off. Your mileage may vary.

You won't be able to deactivate the DSC without a reflash and even that's iffy. The button is your only option.

Just hold down the button across from the sport button until the icon appears in the tach.

QFT. there has been many times where the dsc cut power where I needed it to get out of a sticky situation. Although I do leave it on in the rain.

Just remember there is a difference from 07 on than before 07 with the way the DSC operates. I leave mine alone most of the time because if I turn it off it is way to easy to melt the tires.

It's certainly not unsafe to drive with it off or disabled. But for most of my driving, I leave it on. Only when I want to drive it closer to it's limits do I thumb it off. Like the day I spend driving with some friends on some of the very best twisty roads California has to offer. Then, it was off.
