When Life Gives you Lemons...

I decided to go for some last minute skiing yesterday. I took a half day at work and drove an 1hr 45min to a near by ski area (Catamount on the NY / Mass border)

I get there at 2:45 and am informed that they're closing in 45min . the lift ticket page on their website didn't indicate that they were no longer open for night skiing. In their defense the "hours of operation" page did say the proper hours. I just didn't notice that page.

On the bright side I set my GPS for shortest distance for the drive home. There was a yellow sharp turn or twisty road sign almost every mile. I don't know the last time I went for a drive without a care about how or when I got to my destination. I had forgotten how fun my mini is to drive.
I didn't spend the day as planned but I was smiling the entire drive home

So when life gives you lemons go for a drive!

I had a similar situation a few weeks back. I had a week off between jobs and went to VT for a week or so of skiing. 2 days at Stowe, 2 at sugarbush, and 2 at Mount snow (southern). So its my last day in northern VT and i am having a craptastic ski day...wet icy and couldn't see at the top of the mountain. Fell a bunch so i called it a day early and decided to take the long way south down RT100, the spine of VT. Wonderful driving down the center of VT

I like your observation, when life gives you lemons, go for a drive, although I think going for a drive will improve things even if every thing is coming up roses.
