Care Package

We are picking up my wife's new 2010 Cooper S on Saturday. This is her first new sports type car since we got married (almost 10 years--Yippee). It is a metallic British Racing Green with Black Bonnet stripes, sport pack, cold weather and premium sound with english oak interior. And she likes to drive so its stick.

I wanted to have a Care Package for her that I will put in the boot before she picks it up. yeah I am a softy cheese ball when it comes to her and our little girl.

So far I have an Easter type basket with meguiers cleaning wipes, a gift card to Sunglass Hut for new sunglasses, a printed gift card from me that gives her free detailing (no strings attached), and a maybe a new iPod.

What would you want or think might be a nice addition to this?

I don't know but it seems like we are in a "wife wants a MINI" period. It's nice that so many husbands are willing to accomodate the desires of their women. At least it should make it easier to make a few "additions" when you want. Wish my situation was like that, mine only agrees to gas purchases and gripes about having to use premium. You guys are lucky.

She didn't have to "have" a mini I suggested it. She works 65 -70 hours a week, drives two hours one way to work, makes time for daughter and myself, and is happy and looks good doing it.

So when I can do nice things in return I do. That is what best friends are for

So yup I am very lucky. Still trying to figure when the devil is going to pop up to collect.

If you have any nice idea to add for gift basket please feel free. Doesn't have to be expensive just neat or thoughtful.

Thanks,

EE

A gas card would be good and how about a card for her favorite fast food stop or coffee shop?

Some ideas:

A glovebox tidy
A AAA membership 'cause those run-flat tires may not cover all contingencies
An "Actual Size" sticker
Touch-up paint
A Quick Detail kit

I could go on...

How about a California Car Duster or some good microfiber towels? I know I dusted off my baby every time I came home from late may (when I got her) until the snow hit (and salt and road grime). When it was rainy I dried her off so she wouldnt get waterspots. I will resume this after the spring thaw. Only took minutes and my car always looked showroom fresh!

BTW, you may want to add a card or something specific so she immediately knows it was from you. My husband left a present for me in the glove box and I initially thought it was from the car dealer (until I unwrapped the gift and then I knew it had to be from him)! In my defense he was super stealthy and I did not see him put the gift in the glove box and I would swear I didnt stop staring at the car the whole time, lol!

Yeah I would go for some microfibers and some prima products if you plan on cleaning it yourself. Oh, maybe a coupon for a free backrub and a mix-tape. Chicks totally dig that!!!

PS. A mix CD can be substituted, but cheesy music cannot!!

If it's got the iPod interface, you could get an iPod that's engraved and get one that's close to the color of the car!

For the life of me, I can't remember the name of it but it's a little plastic fresnal lens that I have at the top of the windscreen and it lets me see traffic lights that would otherwise be invisible (I'm 6'1"). Inexpensive and works well.

Spray bottle of quick detailing spray with microfiber towels?

The dealership's "store" will have lots of little trinkets as well.

Enjoy!

Yeah the OCDer in me likes the mini-detail kit idea.

Otherwise, maybe a MINI t-shirt and keychain from the dealer, and her favorite driving drink and snack?

How about a toy mini for her desk or for your daughter depending on age?

I've got a hotwheels mini someone gave me parked under my monitor at work and the one of the other mini owners in the building has a whole fleet on his desk.

All of the above!

Here are a few other suggestions:
Nice floormats
Stubby antenna
A good cupholder
Do you have a portable GPS? If so, a Kuda Mount is a must!

And lastly, a HUGE BOW on the roof!!

Excellent Ideas

Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions. The bow is a difficult but doable one. Go to a Fabric store.

The detail kit was on the list
A gift card I created that includes me detailing her car.
Matching iPod--nice touch--maybe a cover so as not to be too crazy.
The matchbox mini is wonderful since I do miniatures for my daughters doll house and very good at micro detail.
Light n Sight very nice
Mixed Music isn't bad--I used to open for Moby and Rob Zombie among others

All great things thanks
Cheers,

EE
