Run Your Vin Here

Thought I would help out and run anyones VIN that they want decoded.

Please read this first!!!!

All I need is your LAST 7 digits of the Vin and Email address you want the file sent to. Please PM me so your info is not out in the public!

I will try to keep up the best I can so bare with me.

Please also note, I can only access your vehicle detail description and options ONLY.

PM me. Just remember, if my box gets full it will take longer for me to do this since i only have a limited # of pm's allowed.

Thank you all for a great website and college education in MINI!

Sorry but++++++

I have my VIN covered up with a piece of tape. I think a Vin should be treated like a Social Security number and not just givin out over the internet.

Some people have access to registration information so with your VIN, they know the address where your vehicle is registered. Thieves could get your information and target you. Also, many don't like that so you will see many vehicle images with the license plate blanked. It is up to you to maintain your privacy.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong, I just want to know, can you explain why a VIN should be compared to a SSN#

Hey Zimm person, I'm not sure how you're providing this information, and that's not my business. I think you're providing some help to NAMer's, and I compliment you. I guess some people don't understand VIN's are "Public Information". I really don't agree with that, but it is what it is. How about I can go to your local town/city hall and ask for your street address, and they will tell me how much you paid for your home, your mortgage, and if your current on your payments. Again it's "Public Information". In my opinion its way too much general information, but again it's what it is. Maybe we must ask our elected officials to keep this confidentia'l, but that's another thread.

And one not for NAM. Removal of political topics from the site.

I'm still wondering why/what this info being provided is all about? I know the details of my car's build....and if I was looking for a used one would surely know that too?

..... not sure why either.... I put a 2003 vin in and signed up in the MINIUSA "minis owner lounge" 2 months ago and got all the build/spec info for a friends (new to her) MINI, so why could'nt anyone else do it for themselves?
Heres the link:

There could be several reasons, of which here are two:

1. Not everyone on the forum is aware of every possible website and webpage on the internet related to MINIs, but they may happen to see this thread by which the original poster provided useful information
2. The link you provided does not seem to work

MOTE--entering the VIN on the miniusa website doesnt give a detailed list for every car. When I entered mine in (after buying it used from a secondary dealer so no info on my MINI), I got a *No detailed report available for this VIN* message

I think it was very nice of the OP and the other person that chimed in to offer to do this for people.

I really couldn't careless. If anyone is stupid enough to visit my property with malice intentions, they better be ready to be hit by a couple of rounds from my AR-15 or Mossberg 500. With that said, PM sent to the OP.

All this conversation is Thread-Jacking and spams the real topic. I appreciate the fact that zimm18 can provide us with vehicle information if we choose to get it. I think about the only thing people should see on this thread is thank-yous for the service. Thanks.

Thank you. As u know almost every thread gets jacked. If u wish to receive the info hit me up. If not start another thread to complain about it. This is simply at my disposal to help others out if they want it.

Pm box is filling up. Be patient, I should be able to email u guys back with in 12 hrs or so when I get back to my computer between going out and sleeping and so fourth.

Again this is just a little service I'm providing to help u guys out cause I know it helps alot of people get specfic info like paint codes interior trim codes, options and so on for your vehicle.
