dynamic traction control on automatic?
dynamic traction control on automatic?
Hi all,
I am wondering if this is a good idea. I still am kinda confused on what it does. The main reason I want it is for snow. By any chance, any one have DTC with a automatic? any insight will be greatly appreciated.

DTC/DSC
The DTC and DSC are electronic driver aids which work the same regardless of transmission type. These aids reduce throttle, overriding pedal inputs, when one of the drive wheels spins faster than rear (non-driven) wheels. This is supposed to correct incorrect driver inputs on slippery surfaces and applies to wet, gravel, or even dry roads - not just snow.
DSC can be turned off when wheel spin is desirable in cases of being stuck in deep snow or sand; but should normally remain on under normal operating conditions to compensate for unexpected slippery conditions.

The description is a bit off...
first things the system does is selective wheel braking to transfer weight and improve traction on wheels that are starting to slide. If this doesn't work, then the system reduces engine power. DSC and DTC are pretty much the same, with DTC allowing a bit more "wag" of the car before intervening. In racers terms, it's a bit "looser".
