Good luck with the fix! And with it being close to 80degrees the next couple of days, it makes sense to wait until Monday!

Yay! She'll be good as new in no time.

I'll be sad for the cabrio-top-russian-roulette to be over though...I kept saying I was going to laugh (just a little) when it got stuck open

I kind of feel like I should ask the service department for something for being so hap-hazard with the ordering of the parts.

First time I saw this thread. Sorry about what happened. Hope your MINI gets fixed so you'll never be able to tell this ever happened!

Took Alyssa into the dealer today to have her top work done. I was given a PW/B 2009 MCSa. It does have a dual-panoramic sunroof, so while it's not a convertible, its as close as I can get in a hardtop.

I think I will call him George while I have him. The name seems fitting since he is always curious as to where he will be going and who will be taking him there.

Specifically requested for one. I actually asked for a JCW Cabrio, manual. My SA said shed to her best to get me an S with a sunroof, but no manuals in their fleet of loaners

Simply because I can, and for no other reason I present to you, George.

Glad to hear she is getting fixed..

Your part delivery problem may have in part been do to their move (or now soon to be move).

Hopefully you will get her back before their new opening.

At least you are keeping your sense of humor over all of this, it's been a long time coming and here's hoping that the Light at the End of the Tunnel is near.

Not a bad looking Loaner!!

They are 16's, but are available in 17's also. When I looked at them, I realized that it looked like George has off-road tires, as I'm used to my short sidewalled 17's

I spoke with my SA yesterday, she said that I "might", stressing the might, get Alyssa back Friday. She also said that the shop foreman is struggling with the install, because MINI has no instructions on how to do it!

She stated that my car is "definitely apart" which leads me to believe that he just stripped it down and is playing "I hope this bolt goes in this hole." I asked her to sneak me a picture, to which she said they aren't allowed, but she would try.

I also mentioned that if an extra Cooper S and JCW badge made their way into Alyssa I wouldn't be upset, citing the delay in finding out the parts were in. To the point of where had I not stopped in, I may have never known. I also cited that their 2 day estimate got bumped to at least 5 days. She said that she would try to pull some strings for me.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just got a call from Claudia (my SA.) Turns out the convertible top frame that they ordered was only for the BACK section, nothing for the front half, the sunroof portion. So, they now have to order another part, which costs $1167.72. I am now fighting with the insurance company to pay for that part, since it wasn't included on the body shops original estimate. By the time the insurance is sorted out, the part it ordered, delivered and installed. I might be ready to trade in for a Roadster.

Keep the faith, Jeremy! Sorry to hear this phase comes with its own contortions, but hopefully it will be done well and right by the time it's all over.

The saga ends tomorrow, at least for now. The grand total comes to about $10,750. 67 days from the initial collapse. 51 days out of service.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I should be getting baby Alyssa home from the hospital. Actually, my SA told me it could be ready today, but they are going back over everything a third time because she knows how **** I am about my MINI and doesn't want me to have to come back again for this problem.

I got the email today that they have now moved to Owings Mills. I wonder if the moving delayed things any.

Sales open on 4/17 and service on 4/19.
